A programme of summer activities in Spondon has been launched to help keep children and their families entertained throughout the summer school holidays.
It includes a wide range of activities for children of all ages, from 0 to 19, including family fun days, outings, outdoor activities, quizzes, craft sessions, Zumba and much more.
The activities are taking place at a range of venues throughout Spondon such as Edmund Hall, Spondon Library, Craddock Avenue Community Room and Spondon Children's Centre. Additionally, there are a number of trips being held outside of Spondon to places such as Drayton Manor and Swadlincote Ski Centre.
Many of the activities are completely free of charge, with others carrying a minimal charge. Booking is required for some activities, while others are simply drop-in events.
The programme has been supported and funded by Spondon Neighbourhood Board and organised on behalf of the Board by Spondon Youth Initiative and Richard Smail, Partnership Manager at Derby City Council.
Spondon Neighbourhood Board has a number of priorities including creating a thriving and vibrant Spondon. One way the Board is achieving this priority is to work with its sub group, Spondon Youth Initiative, to provide, develop and improve positive activities for young people in Spondon.
