Spondon will benefit from a further increase in trains stopping at Spondon station from this month onwards.
The new timetables, due to start on Sunday 21st May, include more frequent services during weekday morning and evening rush hour periods plus an hourly service directly between Nottingham and Matlock on Saturdays.
The increase in frequency comes after the service was all but axed previously due to issues with the availability of staff and rolling stock. It prompted huge numbers of complaints from local passengers and thousands signed a petition calling for the rienstatement of the service.
A more regular service returned in December last year and will now increase further this month.
