Entries are still open for the Spondon Traders Association (STA) competition to design the Flag for Spondon.
We know how great Spondon's village centre looks when the flags are displayed. The Union flag, the flag of St George... but we need a flag for Spondon too!
Spondon is an amazing community, and now is the time to give a symbol of that community identity.
The design criteria are that the flag should reflect Spondon’s Heritage, its Community and its Future.
The Traders Association will make up the winning design, and it will be displayed throughout the village by STA members. The competition will be judged in four classes with cash prizes on offer for each class.
Competition Rules and How To Enter
The competition will be judged in four classes:-
- 1/ Up to 11 yrs old on July 20th 2012
2/ 11 to 16 yrs on July 20th 2012
3/ Over 16 yrs in education in Spondon on July 20th 2012
4/ Open (All residents of Spondon)
The competition is open to all pupils attending an education establishment in Spondon, and all residents of Spondon.
The winning design will reflect Spondon’s Heritage, its Community and its Future.
The competition closing date is Friday 10th February 2012, and the result will be announced on Thursday 22nd March 2012.
Entries are to be A4 size, with the entrants name and contact details on the reverse.
Entries are to be submitted to STA, C/O 78 Sitwell Street, Spondon, Derby, DE21 7FG
A £50.00 prize will be awarded for the winning design in each category, and a £50.00 prize will be awarded for the best overall design, which will be made up and displayed in the Spondon Traders Association member’s premises.
The Spondon Traders Association’s decision will be final.
