Cleaning Spondon's Parks and Open Spaces

One project funded by Spondon Board to improve Spondon environment is a 'deep clean' around Spondon parks.

Residents at the Forum in November asked for action to be taken and the Board responded by allocating funding for a deep cleans around parks.

An immediate impact has been seen and the photo on the right gives an idea of the waste collected by Park Rangers at Gravel Pit Rec (10 bags) and at Ladybower / Haddon, (25 bags) plus chairs, wheels & a strimmer. These deep cleans are in addition to the local litter picks supported by the community including those at Brunswood Park and those organised by McDonalds at ASDA.

These large quantities of waste and litter have accumulated over time and to prevent it happening again we need residents to take responsibility for their environment and pride in their community.

A clean Spondon adds pride to the community.
