Spondon Neighbourhood Forum Update

At the Spondon forum meeting on 28th November at Spondon Village Hall, over 50 residents took part in an exercise to identify places in Spondon where there are problems with litter, footways, highways, trees, bins, public transport, parking and more.

Lots of useful information was gathered on the five maps. Spondon Neighbourhood Board is now using this information to prioritise where to spend their StreetPride Devolved budget in 2013/14.

At the Forum, everyone also learnt more about the plans for the toposcope on Dale Road Park. This feature will add to the many improvements that have already taken place on Dale Road Park during 2012. Spondon Community Association working with Derby Parks Management Team have now commissioned the design and it will be installed in 2013. The diagram to the right shows the original concept proposal and the planned location on Dale Road Park. Download a larger sized version via the link at the foot of this page.

Also at the meeting, Spondon Traders Association were thanked for putting on another fantastic Spondon Alight Event. The Forum also included questions raised about: Speeding on West Road, The new electronic display Bus signs, Spondon Alight, Planning applications, Parking outside schools.

The next Spondon Neighbourhood Forum is on Wednesday 6 March 2013 at Edmund Hall, Edmund Road at 6pm. Everyone is welcome to come along, raise questions and find out about all the latest Spondon projects.
