The 2011 Spondon Social Safari took place over the weekend of 23rd and 24th July and proved to be another big success.
Building on last year's event, and blessed by good weather, the 16 participating sites counted around 1300 visitors in total over the weekend. Coverage on radio and in the newspapers even saw the event having some “out of town” visitors too!
Over £1600 was raised for the participants chosen “good causes”, which included Derbyshire Children’s Home, the Multiple Sclerosis Society and Macmillan Nurses. On top of this, £660 was donated to the Village Improvement Committee, on whose behalf Roy Battelle organised it all.
Congratulations to all involved and roll on the 2012 Safari!
