The initials of Spondon Cricket Club stood on the boundary of the club's former ground on Locko Road/Royal Hill Road, just up from the Vernon Arms. The ground was moved to the far end of Locko Road in the mid-00s and the land of the original ground redeveloped into what is now the housing on Windmill Meadow.
